Copenhagen Airport remained on the growth track with a 3.6% increase in
passenger numbers in October. Year-to-date, Copenhagen Airport has rounded 20.5
million passengers – a 3.2% year-on-year increase.
Close to 2.2 million passengers travelled through Copenhagen Airport in
October, which was a record for October.
"Our growth for the year is almost 50% higher than the European average, and
we're very pleased with the October growth rate of 3.6%. It is also important
to note that in October we had both more business travellers and more leisure
travellers, as more people travelled during the autumn school break, and there
were more business travellers in the other weeks of the month," said Copenhagen
Airport CEO Thomas Woldbye.
The number of international passengers grew by 3.9%, while the number of
transfer passengers was down by just over 4,500 or 1.8%. The number of domestic
passengers remained at almost the same level as last year with a decline of
just 0.4%.
The year-to-date growth rate of 3.2% means that Copenhagen Airport rounded the
20 million passenger mark already in October – a month earlier than last year.
