New CEO for KBC Securities

The Executive Committee of KBC Groep NV has nominated Mr Frederik Vandepitte as managing director of KBC Securities NV and successor of Bartel Puelinckx, CEO of KBC Securities NV. Frederik will take up his mandate as CEO as of 1 May, 2019.

Bartel Puelinckx, who has been CEO of KBC Securities since 1 September 2016, will become Senior General Manager Group Compliance at KBC Group's Headquarters in Brussels as of 1 May 2019 and subject to approval by the European Central Bank. He will report directly into the KBC Group Chief Risk Officer.

Since 2 July 2018, Frederik Vandepitte, as a member of the executive committee and managing director of KBC Securities, has been responsible for Corporate Finance, Acquisition Finance, Project Finance, Export Finance and Loan & Debt Markets.

Frederik Vandepitte started his professional career at The Boston Consulting Group and worked from 2002 to 2015 in investment banking at Morgan Stanley, most recently as Managing Director responsible for the Belgian operations. From 2016 to 2018 he was a member of the Management Committee of Incofin Investment Management, where he was responsible for fund development, investor relations and talent management.

He graduated as Commercial Engineer in Managerial Informatics from KU Leuven and obtained an MBA from Columbia Business School. After a period of 10 years abroad, in New York, London and Sydney, he returned to Belgium in 2010.
