Lithium Geochemical Soil Program Commences at DOM’s Hill Project

Highlights

  • The planned project-wide DOM’s Hill geochemical soil sampling program (~4,600 samples) has recently commenced, over a month earlier than expected

  • The soil sampling program is primarily focused on the discovery of pegmatite-hosted Lithium-CaesiumTantalum (LCT) mineralisation and is now expected to be completed by December 2021 - prior to the Pilbara’s usual hot and wet summer weather setting in

  • Following the soil sampling program and weather permitting, the field crew will be deployed to Kalamazoo’s Marble Bar Project to complete a similar project-wide soil sampling program

  • The accelerated soil sampling programs will enable the portable XRF (pXRF) and laboratory assay analyses to be received and evaluated on a fast-tracked timetable

  • The early commencement of the soil sampling programs will enable high priority targets to be identified and drill tested as soon as the 2022 field season begins

Kalamazoo Resources Limited (ASX: KZR) (“Kalamazoo” or the “Company”) is pleased to advise upon the recent acceleration of its lithium exploration programs at its DOM’s Hill and Marble Bar Projects in the East Pilbara region of WA (Figure 1). In particular, the early commencement of the planned, project-wide soil sampling program at the DOM’s Hill Project.

Large, detailed soil sampling programs have been designed for both the DOM’s Hill and Marble Bar Projects after receiving highly encouraging pXRF results from soil sample pulps previously collected from E45/5146 (DOM’s Hill Project) which indicated potential for LCT pegmatite mineralisation[1] .

The project-wide soil sampling programs have been designed on a detailed 200m x 100m grid and will involve a minimum 4,600 samples. All soil samples will be the subject of initial pXRF Lithium Index analysis before select subsets are submitted for laboratory assay analysis. This methodology will ensure that the exploration programs can be accelerated and completed cost efficiently.

At the DOM’s Hill Project, the field crew commenced the soil sampling program at the beginning of September, and it is expected to take approximately two months to complete. This soil sampling program has commenced approximately one month earlier than expected to ensure the program can be completed before the hot and wet summer months, typical in the Pilbara, set in. Immediately following the conclusion of the DOM’s Hill program, weather permitting, the field crew will then be deployed to Kalamazoo’s Marble Bar Project to undertake a similar project-wide soil sampling program.

The early commencement of these geochemical programs is part of Kalamazoo’s accelerated lithium exploration campaign to fast-track high priority targets to drill-ready status. Specifically, the early start to these soil sampling programs will enable the pXRF and laboratory assay analyses to be received and evaluated over the summer months.

In turn this will facilitate the early identification of high priority targets and for reconnaissance drilling programs to be ready as soon as the field season commences in 2022.

Next Steps

Kalamazoo’s priority at the DOM’s Hill and Marble Bar Projects is to focus on advancing towards a drillready status early in 2022, which will include the following:

  • Completion of the planned large, project-scale soil sampling programs on 200m x 100m spaced sampling grids by early December 2021

  • All soil samples to be analysed and evaluated by pXRF Lithium Index by late December 2021

  • Follow-up laboratory assay analyses and field reconnaissance/mapping campaigns

  • Target identification, infill soil sampling and design of reconnaissance drilling programs
