Appointment of Independent Non-executive Director

Dart Group PLC, the Leisure Travel and Distribution & Logistics group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Robin Terrell as an independent non-executive director, with immediate effect.

Robin Terrell has extensive experience in leading online and retail businesses ranging from Amazon, where he was Vice President and UK Managing Director from 2001 to 2005, to John Lewis, where he was Managing Director of John Lewis Direct, responsible for developing their multi-channel proposition.  Most recently he was Chief Customer Officer at Tesco, where he also served as Interim Managing Director, UK and Group Multi-channel Director.  Prior to that he served as Executive Director of Multi-channel and International at House of Fraser. Robin qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand.

Robin is Non-Executive Chair of Manufacturing Services Investment Limited, Non-Executive Director and Audit Chair at William Hill Plc, and Non-Executive Director at Amara Living,  Ahlens and New Look. His previous Non-Executive roles include Tesco Mobile, Lazada Group, Karen Millen, Maplin Electronics, Wilkinson and Monica Vinader.

Robin will become a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees with effect from the date of his appointment.

Mr Terrell was appointed as a non-executive director of MEL Topco Limited (part of the Maplin Electronics Group) on 21 August 2017. Liquidators were appointed to MEL Topco Limited (along with other group companies) in relation to a creditors' voluntary liquidation on 1 May 2018 and the company was dissolved on 7 December 2019.  The companies in the group, in aggregate, owed approximately £53 million to a secured creditor (who held charges over the assets of the group). No distributions were made to unsecured creditors.

Mr Terrell was appointed as a non-executive director of Karen Millen Holdco 1 Limited on 3 March 2016.  Administrators were appointed to Karen Millen Holdco 1 Limited on 6 August 2019 (as well as a number of other companies in the Karen Millen Group) and the administration is still ongoing.  The companies in the group, in aggregate, owed approximately £65 million to a secured creditor and approximately £62 million to unsecured creditors. Due to Karen Millen Holdco 1 Limited being an intermediate holding company, no asset realisations are expected from that company.

Mr Terrell does not hold any ordinary shares in Dart Group PLC.
