Dear Shareholder
I am pleased to report our outlook is robust as we invest to increase the scale of the business and seek a market re-rating of our share price.
As you know, the Company increased revenue by 43% on the prior half year. Significant investment to grow the business has been made and we expect sales and revenue return to occur from Q4 2010. This strategy has had a short term impact on half year earnings and I understand you may be disappointed by the reduction in dividend to be paid, however I am confident that as we grow, we will achieve larger earnings with greater rewards for Shareholders.
Stratatel remains committed to delivering continued returns through dividend payments and capital growth. The Company recently declared an interim dividend of 0.13 cent per share. The decrease in the dividend per share is reflective of the decreased profit available for distribution, the increase in shares on issue following the entitlement issue and the increased amortisation charge recognised during the half year ended 31 December 2009.
The Stratatel Resource business is proving a great acquisition with revenues achieved for the half year under Stratatel ownership equal to that of the previous full year under the previous owner and there is a growing pipeline of large IBM software licence and service opportunities. Stratatel Resource ‘opens for business’ in our existing Melbourne Office on 1 March 2010 with Sydney and Brisbane office openings planned for later in the year.
There is also a high level of activity within EMD (Expense Management Division) led by CEO Matt Parry and his management team to raise awareness of softlog.mobile™, a new and innovative time billing software application running on mobile devices. It is my view that it will take up to 24 months for this technology to be accepted amongst legal firms, but ultimately I believe it will be a significant revenue generator.
For your interest, there is an article by Dunn and Bradstreet listing the successful IT companies by growth in Australia during the Global Financial Crisis, with Stratatel listed at number 17. Click here to read the full article*. In conclusion, I would like to thank you for your support of the Company and close by saying your Company is in the best shape it has ever been as we continue to strive to provide all Shareholders with a great return.
Best regards Mike Fairclough

FleetManager[®] builds momentum
Due to a strong and increased channel focus through Marketing and Sales as well as pro-active engagement with existing clients and prospects FleetManager[®] has gained momentum securing five new FleetManager[®] Sales in December 2009. Of particular note is the recent sale to Deakin University of the combined Call Accounting and carrier billing analysis and reporting system CADS FleetManager. This provided Deakin University a centralised solution for all mobile and fixed line data utilising Stratatel’s secure hosted environment. We are pleased to announce that Deakin University is the 15th Australian University that we can add to our client list.
Newly released softlog.follow&go to help reduce printing costs
The Company recently launched the newest product in the Softlog suite: softlog.follow&go. This software allows users to gain control over their printing costs through the latest advancements in swipe card and PIN technology.
softlog.follow&go is a complete document control solution which can reduce printing costs, increase security around confidential documents, reduce waste and increase the convenience of printing for users. This software enables businesses of all sizes to identify and automate document and expense management strategies. It is an additional module for Softlog’s Enterprise or CostManager core print solutions.
This new product provides an excellent step forward for Stratatel as this is the first time the Company is actively targeting corporate customers with a Softlog product. With initial positive feedback and a number of enquiries already received, we are looking forward to launching this to our wider customer base over the next few months and achieving sales within this target market.

Legal sector survey drives positive media coverage for softlog.mobile[™]
With legal firms around the country searching for ways to reduce operating costs, we took the opportunity to in the media. explore the profession’s response to the global financial crisis as a tool to promote softlog.mobile[™]
We surveyed 430 firms across New South Wales, Western Australia, Queensland and Victoria, with interesting results. 86 per cent of respondents said that their customers had either questioned an invoice or requested more detailed time sheets for work since the financial crisis took hold. The survey also found that 80 per cent of respondents reported their clients had reduced their spend on external legal advice as a result of the economic downturn, yet only 34 per cent adapted their billing processes accordingly.
==> picture [348 x 73] intentionally omitted <==
Perhaps surprisingly, 80 per cent don’t believe they accurately capture billable time when they are attending to client matters away from the office, or on their mobile phone, even though 86 per cent do have an automated cost recovery system in place.
Against this background the results from the survey were developed into a press release, which was distributed to the legal media in late January. Excellent media coverage was achieved with the survey results published and Matt Parry, CEO Stratatel Ltd, quoted in The New Lawyer, The Sydney Morning Herald, BRW, Canberra Times, Brisbane Times, The Age and WA Today. Download the full press release here or visit www.stratatel.com.au.
Our communications activities continued with Softlog advertisements running in the Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales Law Society Journals. Advertising around Softlog has recently commenced in a number of online legal publications and new case studies have been distributed to existing clients and prospects. The Stratatel website was also relaunched and optimised with several enquiries following on from this.
Over the coming months more lead generation and retention activities will be rolled out including a quarterly newsletter to our client base and electronic direct mail campaigns to prospects.
