THE ELECTION COMMISSION'S new mega Electors Verification Programme (EVP), which seeks to update electoral rolls through crowd sourcing, is set to be launched on September 1 across the country, officials said on Saturday.

Under the programme, a voter from each family will get a user name and password, allowing a person to upload all documents related to electoral registration and tag similar details about his or her family members, Delhi chief electoral officer (CEO) Ranbir Singh said.

The Delhi CEO said, the EVP programme can be effected both online and offline. "Online, voters can go to the NVSP website and do the desired registration or on voter helpline mobile app of the EC.

Offline, voters can go to any of the voters' centre spread across 70 assembly constituencies or through nearly 550 Common Service Centres (CSCs) spread across the city," Singh said.

Each CSC will charge a nominal fee, like ₹1 for uploading a document or $\bar{\tau}$ 2 for photo upload and $\overline{\tau}1$ for submitting form 6.

The fee will be displayed at each CSC and also on the Delhi CEO website, he said.

Google to pay $150-200m over YouTube privacy claims

GOOGLE WILL PAY $150-200 million to settle allegations about YouTube violating a children's privacy law while gathering data to better target its adverts, US media reports said on Friday.

The US Federal Trade Commission agreed on the amount of the settlement against YouTube parent Google, which if approved by the Justice Department would be the largest settlement in a case involving children's privacy, The New York Times reported.

The allegations against YouTube were made by privacy groups who said the platform had violated laws protecting children's privacy by gathering data on users under the age of 13 without obtaining permission from parents, Politico reported.

The FTC is expected to announce its decision on the settlement in September, the New York Times said. US regulators have long argued Google fails to protect children from harmful content and data collection on its YouTube platform.

Advocacy group The Center for Digital Democracy said in a statement that the proposed settlement would be "woefully low" given Google's size and revenue, and called on the FTC

• ಜಿ. ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸತಕ್ಕದ್ದು 1) ಮತದನಾಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮೇಲಿನ 'ಸಿ' ಅಂಶದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿರುವ ದಿನಾಂಕ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಯದ ಅಂತರ ದೂರದ ಪರಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ಇ-ಮತದಾನವನ್ನು CDSL ನಿಷ್ಠಿಯಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. 2) ಒಂದು ಠರಾವಿನ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಮತ ಚಲಾಯಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ, ತದನಂತರ ತಮ್ಮ ನಿರ್ಧಾರವನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಲಾಗದು. 3) ಮತದಾನ ಪತ್ರದ ಮೂಲಕ ಮತ ಚಲಾಯಿಸಲು ಎಜಿಎಮ್ ನಡೆಯುವ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುವುದು. 4) ಇ–ಮತದಾನ ಮಾಡಲು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಸಭೆಗೆ ಹಾಜರಾಗಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅವಕಾಶವಿರುತ್ತದೆ ಆದರೆ ಎಜಿಎಮ್ ನಡೆಯುವ ದಿನದಂದು ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ ಚಲಾಯಿಸಲಾಗದು. 5) ಸದಸ್ಯರ ರಿಜಿಸರ್ ಅಥವಾ ಡೆಪಾಸಿಟರೀಸ್ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುವ ಫಲಾನುಭವಿ ಮಾಲಿಕರ ರಿಜಿಸ್ತರ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂತಿಮ ದಿನವಾದ 18ನೇ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 2019ರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಹೆಸರು ನೊಂದಾಯಿತವಾಗಿರುವ ಸದಸ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ದೂರದ ಪರಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ಇ-ಮತದಾನ ಚಲಾಯಿಸುವ ಅಥವಾ ಎಜಿಎಮ್ ನಡೆಯುವ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಮತಪತ್ರದ ಮೂಲಕ ಮತ ಚಲಾಯಿಸುವ ಅವಕಾಶವಿರುತ್ತದೆ.;
