IVU Traffic Technologies AG: Nine months figures for fiscal 2004

Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– IVU Traffic Technologies AG: Nine months figures for fiscal 2004 Revenues slightly down in comparison with 2003 Costs considerably reduced EBIT and consolidated losses improved by more than 40 percent In the first nine months of the current financial year, IVU Traffic Technologies AG has generated revenues of some EUR 12.2 million, about 14 percent down on the same period in the previous year. The turnover for the 3rd quarter alone was approximately the same as in the previous year. The costs of the IVU sank considerably in a year-on-year comparison. Personnel expenditure alone was down by EUR 2.7 million or 18 percent from the same period last year. Costs for property and equipment were also down by more than eight percent. As a result, the EBIT improved by 45 percent to EUR (3.8) million, the company losses improved by 42 percent to EUR (4.3) million. The results for the first nine months of this financial year are lower than we had expected, said Prof. Dr. Ernst Denert, the Chairman of the Management Board of IVU. Although these results showed that IVU is making progress in its consolidation – in particular as a result of the considerable reduction in personnel costs last year. However, missing from the year-on-year comparison, and therefore also from the figures for our annual planning is a figure of almost EUR 2 million turnover. “We regard it as possible that the turnover and thus also the final result could be EUR 1-2 million worse than planned.” “We are optimistic in particular when we look ahead to the 2005 financial year”, said Denert. Awareness is growing in numerous countries that an efficient public transport system requires modern software systems. IVU is the only system developer today to offer its customers an IT-platform with software and hardware solutions for all the requirements of public transport from planning through operations to financial controlling. IVU is currently involved in a number of highly interesting large tender bidding processes, which we expect to lead in one or the other case to profitable orders in 2005.
