Amazon India announces 20,000 Realtors re seasonal jobs in customer service

FE BUREAU New Delhi, June 28

AMAZON INDIA ON Sunday said that it has opened close to 20,000 seasonal employment opportunities in its customer service organisation. Most of the positions are part of the firm's virtual customer service programme that provides work from home options.

The new positions are open across 11 locations including Kolkata, Pune and Hyderabad.

The announcement comes a little over a month after Amazon created nearly 50,000 temporary job opportunities in the country across its fulfilment and delivery networks.

As coronavirus cases are surging in the country, consumers are increasingly resorting to online shopping to meet their consumption needs. After e-commerce firms resumed full operations in the country, companies registered a spike in consumer search for products like electronic items, home appliances, casual wear and other work-from-home

enablers.

Launch of sale events by online firms may be an indicator of significant consumer demand. Amazon recently concluded a seven-day sale.

The creation of the fresh job roles come amidst expectations of a continued rise in demand going forward.

"We estimate that customer traffic will further scale up over the next six months with the onset of Indian and global holiday seasons," said Akshay Prabhu, director at customer service, Amazon India.

Reliance pushes back KG-D6 production to Sept-Oct

RELIANCE INDUSTRIES HAS pushed back the start of production from the second wave of discoveries in its eastern offshore KG-D6 block to September/Octoberafter the Covid-19 lockdown imposed unprecedented constraints in execution of the deepwater project.

The company, along with its partner BP Plc of the UK, was initially targeting the start of production from the R-Series field in the Krishna Godavari block in May but pushed it back to June-end due to the lockdown.

The lockdown has further pushed the start of production to mid of 2020-21 fiscal, Reliance said in its latest annual report. Fiscal year runs from April to March and mid of the fiscal should be September or October.

In its annual report, Reliance said the key focus for 2019-20 was to monetise the about 3 trillion cubic feet equivalent of discovered resources in KG-D6 deepwater.

All contracts have been awarded and projects are in different stages of maturity with commissioning of the first of the three projects i.e. R Cluster, expected this year," $-PTI$ it said.

उन्होंने कहा कि बिजली कंपनियां करोड़ों

के बिजली उपभोक्ताओं के लिए नया संकट खड़ा कर दिया है। बिजली कंपनियां उपभोक्ताओं को औसत बिजली बिल भेज रही हैं और इससे उपभोक्ताओं को छट व फिक्स $\frac{1}{2}$ चार्ज (तय शुल्क) का नकसान उठाना पड रहा र्ब है। इस मामले में आरडब्लए संगठनों ने ऊर्जा नुप्रि मंत्री सतेंद्र जैन के पास अपनी शिकायत दर्ज कराई है। यह शिकायत युनाइटेड रेजिडेंट्स आँफ दिल्ली (यूआरडी) को तरफ से दर्ज दि कराई गई है। मांग को गई है कि इन कंपनियों ù, औसत बना कर भेज दिया गया है। बिजली को सालाना 2200 करोड़ की सबसिडी से इन कंपनियां जनता को अधिकतर फोन पर संदेश चार महीनों की लगभग 700 करोड़ की भेज रही हैं जिनमें बिलों की पूर्ण जानकारी नहीं सबसिडी भुगतान पर तुरंत रोक लगाई जाए।

शिकायत में कहा गया है कि बिजली कंपनियों द्वारा बंद के बीते 4 माह में बिना मीटर रीडिंग के औसत बिल भेजे जा रहे हैं। इस वजह से उपभोक्ताओं को दिल्ली सरकार द्वारा दी जाने वाली छूट का लाभ नहीं मिल रहा है। आरडब्लुए का कहना है कि महामारी के दौर में जब हर नागरिक कामकाज में मंदी और पैसे की तंगी के दौर से गुजर रहा है ऐसे वक्त में बिजली कंपनियां चुपचाप जनता के साथ धोखा कर रही हैं। .बिजली बिलों के डाटा और नागरिकों से मिली शिकायतों में यह अंतर साफ देखने को मिल रहा

चाहिए। सभी अस्पतालों को इसका पालन करना होगा। इसी प्रकार सहायता डेक्स पर कोई भी नागरिक अपने मरीज के इलाज के संबंध में जानकारी ले सकेगा। ये सभी काम सुप्रीम कोर्ट के आदेश का बाद शुरू किए जा रहे हैं, जिसमें उन्होंने सरकार को अस्पतालों के लिए सीसीटीवी कैमरे की व्यवस्था सुनिश्चित करने के लिए कहा गया है। जो भी अस्पताल इस व्यवस्था को लागू नहीं करेंगे उनके खिलाफ कड़ी से कड़ी कार्रवाई की जाएगी। प्रधान सचिव स्वास्थ्य की मंजुरी के बाद यह व्यवस्था लागू को गई है।
