APPOINTMENT OF NEW CHAIRMAN

The Directors of Southern Gold Limited are pleased to advise the appointment of Mr Greg Boulton as a Non Executive Director and Chairman of the Company.

The addition of Mr Boulton’s skills to the Board strengthens the Company’s capabilities as Southern Gold continues to grow and move toward the development of its gold‐focused resources business within Australia and Cambodia.

Mr Boulton is on the board of a number of private and public companies, including major publicly listed Australian trucking and freight group, K & S Corporation, and venture capital specialist, Paragon Private Equity.

He has broad experience in capital raisings, acquisitions and commercial negotiations, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, CPA Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Mr Boulton is also Chairman of 2007 AFL grand finalist, the Port Adelaide Football Club, and is also on the boards of Business SA and Statewide Superannuation Fund.

He joins the board of Southern Gold as a replacement for founding Chairman, Mr Ric Horn who has resigned to pursue other interests. Mr Horn was closely involved with Southern Gold’s Cambodian and Wyoming (US) project developments, and with the formation of listed Australian uranium explorer, Southern Uranium Limited. The Company’s Directors wish to acknowledge publicly Mr Horn’s tireless efforts during the formation and development of Southern Gold to its present status as a strong and vibrant gold explorer.

Southern Gold controls an established portfolio of prospective projects focusing on gold resources in the world‐class mining provinces of South Australia (Gawler Craton), the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia (Yilgarn Craton), in New South Wales (the Lachlan Fold Belt) and is leading the mining industry into Cambodia through exploration of eight projects in eastern Cambodia. The Company also retains a direct 39% interest in Southern Uranium.
