Sunbird Energy Ltd Lists On The ASX

Sunbird Energy Limited (“Sunbird” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce its successful admission to the ASX under the code “SNY”. The listing follows on from the successful IPO which closed oversubscribed on 19 December 2011having raised $9m through the issue of 45m fully paid ordinary shares.

Sunbird Energy’s Managing Director Will Barker said that the market’s strong interest in the IPO was encouraging and thanked shareholders for their support during the listing process.

“The capital raised from the IPO will enable the Company to add value to our five existing exploration projects in southern Africa, in particular the Ermelo and Mopane Projects in South Africa, with drilling programs due to commence in the first half of 2012,” he said.

The Company has brought together an experienced Board and a management team with a proven track record who seek to grow Sunbird through exploration success and value adding transactions.

Sunbird’s CBM portfolio covers approximately 8,647km² in prospective coal basins of southern Africa. These assets provide a significant opportunity for the development - of large scale energy projects with Best Estimate Gas in-Place of 5.3 Tcf, and up to a High Estimate of 29.2 Tcf.
