Intrum Justitia wins a place on major UK government framework

Intrum Justitia's UK subsidiary is one of a number of companies appointed to help reduce outstanding debt for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

The Liverpool based company will work with the DWP to ensure that outstanding Social Security payments and corporate accounts are collected for the department and that Child Support Agency payments are obtained from non-resident parents on behalf of the families who need them.

The appointment to the framework was won through a competitive tender process, where Intrum Justitia proved that they have the expertise and the resources to work successfully on high profile-nationwide projects.

Owen James, UK Managing Director of Intrum Justitia, said: "We are proud that we will have a key role helping the DWP to modernise welfare. This is a significant account for Intrum Justitia which has good potential to develop during 2008 and beyond.

Inclusion in this framework will also give the potential for us to work with other Government Departments in the future. We recognise the part Intrum Justitia has to play in terms of communicating with the DWP's customers and the reallocation of monies to many needy families across the UK".
