Intrasense™ and Radboudumc sign a multiyear partnership, deploying Myrian® XP-Prostate application as a worldwide reference

Intrasense™ (FR0011179886 - ALINS), specialist in medical imaging software solutions, and Radboud university medical center, a worldwide specialist in prostate MRI guided biopsy announce the signature of a contract for a largescale deployment of Myrian® XP-Prostate, one of the clinical applications of the medical imaging company.

Myrian® XP Prostate chosen by a worldwide specialist of prostate cancer diagnosis

In the mid-nineties, Radboudumc has been one of the first medical centers in the world studying prostate cancer by using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and has co-developed a structured way of reading the images, the so called 'PI-RADS' system. This method has become the international standard for the diagnosis of prostate cancer and is available on Myrian XP-Prostate clinical module.

Pioneer in this field of diagnostics for prostate cancer, the innovative method developed by Radboudumc is using MRI images and MR-targeted biopsy instead of transrectal ultrasound biopsy, as currently used in most procedures.

This new method allows to reduce the need for prostate biopsy by 50%, where traditionally no pre-biopsy imaging was performed.

With the objective of training radiologists worldwide and developing expert centers based on this new multiparametric MRI prostate method, Radboudumc has established a Prostate MRI Reference Center (PMRC). The PMRC already setup and trained 20 expert centers around the world and has the ambition to grow to more than 100 centers in the coming years.

Myrian® XP Prostate, the new reference tool for worldwide prostate experts

Based on this vision and what has already been accomplished, the Myrian® platform and its XP-Prostate module have been selected by Radboudumc to be the prostate MRI reading solution deployed worldwide for PMRC the education program and its expert centers.

The solution developed by Intrasense™ uses advanced analysis tools to visualize, characterize and measure prostate MR examinations, and provides a structured organ-based report with a task-based workflow. It will be deployed within the PMRC network of expert centers within the next months and is therefore strengthening its clinical leadership position as the worldwide reference tool. This large-scale cloud-based deployment also demonstrates Myrian® integration capabilities which have been developed over the last months.

This new commercial success for Intrasense™ with a worldwide reference like Radboudumc will provide further recurring business revenues and visibility to the leading medical imaging software company.
