Pursuant to Regulation 30 of the SEBI LODR Regulations, we hereby inform you that the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held today, i.e., February 4, 2022, has unanimously approved the appointment of Mr. Rahul Bhatia, Non-Executive Director as the Managing Director of the Company, with effect from February 4, 2022.

The details as required, under the SEBI LODR Regulations read with SEBI Circular CIR/CFD/CMD/4/2015 dated September 9, 2015, are attached as Annexure I to this letter.

In compliance with SEBI Order dated June 14, 2018 to the Stock Exchanges and further SEBI Circular No. LIST/COMP/14/2018-19 dated June 20, 2018, we confirm that Mr. Rahul Bhatia has not been debarred from holding the office of Director by virtue of any SEBI order or any other such authority.

Date of appointment & term of appointment: Date of appointment:February 4, 2022 Term of appointment:Appointed as the Managing Director on the Board for a period of five years effective from February 4, 2022, not liable to retire by rotation and subject to approval of the Members of the Company. He will not draw any remuneration from the Company during his tenure as the Managing Director of the Company, other than the benefits or perquisites to which he is entitled as per the rules of the Company, as applicable from time to time.
3.		Brief Profile: Mr. Rahul Bhatia is the Promoter and Managing Director of the Company. He is also the Vice Chairman of InterGlobe Enterprises. He holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. Mr. Bhatia established InterGlobe Enterprises in 1989 with its flagship business of Air Transport Management. With a substantial experience of over 3 decades in the travel industry, it is under his effective captainship that the InterGlobe Group has diversified its portfolio, which now includes Civil Aviation (IndiGo), Hospitality, Airline Management, Travel Commerce, Advanced Pilot Training, and Aircraft Maintenance Engineering. In 2011, Mr. Bhatia was recognized as the ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ by Ernst & Young and also by The Economic Times. In the same year, he received ‘The Outstanding Start-Up’ award at the Forbes India Leadership Awards as well. In 2016, he was featured on the Forbes’ Global Game Changers List.

IndiGo appoints Mr. Rahul Bhatia as its Managing Director

National, February 04, 2022: The Board of Directors of InterGlobe Aviation Limited (IndiGo), at its meeting today, unanimously approved the appointment of its co-founder and Promoter, Mr. Rahul Bhatia, as its Managing Director with immediate effect, subject to the approval of the Members of the Company.

IndiGo Chairman, Mr. Meleveetil Damodaran, said “This will further strengthen the airline in the years ahead. He added that Mr. Bhatia would oversee all aspects of the airline, and actively lead the Management team.”

Mr. Bhatia stated that his agenda would be transformational and would focus on expanding the airline’s presence in India and in international markets and building for the long term.
