The Police Authority awards Intea police facility project in Gävle

The Police Authority has conducted a landlord procurement for a police facility to be built in Gävle and has decided to award the contract to Intea.

The new police facility is expected to cover just over 33 000 sqm lettable area and will include, among other things, offices, detention cells, laboratory, shooting range, training facilities, and garage spaces. The police facility will be built in the Kungsbäck area, next to the E4 highway, adjacent to the new custody unit, which Intea will build on behalf of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. Gävle's new justice center will cover approximately 55,000 sqm lettable area.

The award includes a project development agreement. Implementation and lease agreements will be signed following completion of the design phase. The lease agreement runs for a period of 15 years from completion. The annual rental value is based on the costs incurred in the project and is currently estimated at approximately SEK 104 million with 70 percent CPI indexation. The investment is estimated at approximately SEK 1,600 million. The lease agreement will be subject to government approval, among other conditions. A contract suspension is in place until May 5, 2025.

The project is expected to be completed in the beginning of 2030.
