The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– METRO in Houston Awards init $20 Million Dollar Contract METRO, the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas, located in the greater Houston area has chosen init to provide an Integrated Vehicle Operations Management System (IVOMS). A contract has been awarded by METRO, in Houston, the fourth largest city in the United States, to INIT Innovations in Transportation, Inc., a subsidiary of init innovation in traffic systems AG. The $20 million dollar project will be completed within 24 months. The supplier of complete intelligent transportation systems prevailed against respected international competitors. init will supply its innovative technology for fleet dispatch, control and management to be installed in a control center and on a fleet of 1,350 buses. The METRO control center will operate with a JAVA-based Computer Aided Dispatch and Automatic Vehicle Location system (CAD/AVL). The buses will be equipped with inits latest development, the COPILOTpc based on Microsofts embedded XP operating system. This intelligent vehicle control unit opens a whole new world of features and possibilities for intelligent vehicle control or smart bus concepts. All 1,350 vehicles will also be equipped with next stop announcement units, mobile radios for data radio communication and Automatic Passenger Counters. Transit Signal Priority systems will be installed on 1,072 vehicles and utilized at approximately 1,250 intersections. Numerous supplementary components for the statistical data evaluation, reporting and online transfer between vehicle and control center will be added. The contract with METRO is an important milestone in the business development of init in North America. METRO in Houston is one of 12 transit authorities in North America which have decided in favor of init because of its technological edge and competitive pricing.
