After a strong second quarter, init innovation in traffic systems SE has already exceeded the earnings target (EBIT) set for 2019 as a whole. According to preliminary figures, operating earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) as of June 30 th , 2019 amounted to around EUR 8m (first half of 2018: EUR 1.1m). The Managing Board had assumed a target value of EUR 7.5m for the year as a whole. Half-year revenues amounted to around EUR 77m (first half of 2018: EUR 59.3m) and were thus almost 30 percent higher than the previous year.
On the one hand, the revenues growth reflects higher than expected follow-up orders, on the other hand, some projects had a faster impact on revenues than planned.
On the earnings side, the measures taken to increase efficiency in the subsidiaries are also having a positive effect. In addition, the e-ticketing division recorded high growth rates and contributed more to earnings than expected.
The record order income also continued in the second quarter, reaching a figure of EUR 114m for the first half of the year (first half of 2018: EUR 73m).
The Managing Board will update and raise the revenues and earnings forecast in connection with the preparation of the half-year financial report. It is worth noting that revenues and earnings were exceptionally good in the first half of this year.
The half-year financial report will be published on August 8 th , 2019.
