Revenue Secretary Tarun Bajaj has assured India Inc the tax department will not dial for extra tax payment in March. He also asked the industry what was stopping it from investing in the country.
Addressing the Annual General Meeting of industry chamber CII, Bajaj said the tax regime is now stable and the industry should not look at the Budget for any change in tax rate. He also appreciated industries for their better performance during the pandemic, which is reflected in the earnings; however, he wanted to know why impressive corporate performance has not resulted in the kickstarting of private investment. Bajaj has asked corpor-
ates to present their issues. Further, the Revenue Secret-
ary said that revenue has increased without any upward revision of tax rate.
"I can assure you that one of the things we will work on is try and get due taxes from you; yes, for that we might call you. We might make calls to you to understand the advance taxes you are planning to pay, which is only for understanding and planning for our own revenues, but we will not call you asking to pay extra taxes in the month of March," he said.

Foreign banks have been forced to unwind billions of dollars worth of profitable currency trades at the behest of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), according to people with knowledge of the matter.
The issue in focus is a flurry of currency swap trades that involved the banks converting rupeedenominated deposits into dollars that were then used to buy foreign sovereign debt including US Treasuries, which are unlisted in India. The RBI warned the banks of a regulatory breach last week, saying they must limit their holdings of such unlisted securities to no more than 10 per cent of investments classified as the nonstatutory liquidity ratio portfolio.
Regulatory loophole
Some lenders had racked up exposures of more than $1 billion each by using a regulatory loophole created in February to convert rupee deposits into dollars using a buysell swap — buying the greenback now while selling the same amount at a specified date in the future. They then used the proceeds to purchase US government debt and profited from the arbitrage. As the biggest dollar buyer in the forwards market, the RBI was effectively funding some of the trading profits.

New Delhi, August 11 Rates under the government's new scheme for remitting input taxes on exports may be fi nally notified this week, bringing an end to exporters' long wait since January 1 this year.
"Probably by Friday (August 13), we should notify the rates for the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Export Products (RoDTEP) scheme," Commerce Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam said while speaking at the CII's Annual Meeting on Wednesday.

OUR BUREAU Mumbai, August 11 The microfinance industry is returning back to its pre-Covid situation, with the industry recording 26 per cent yearonyear growth in disbursements at ₹93,100 crore in the JanuaryMarch 2021 quarter, according to "Microfinance Pulse", a joint report by Equifax and SIDBI.
The industry had seen ₹73,736 crore disbursements in the same quarter a year ago. Quarteronquarter growth stood at about 42 per cent over the OctoberDecember 2020 quarter's disbursements of ₹65,441 crore, it said.

Pursuant to filing of NCLT order approving the Composite Scheme of Amalgamation and Arrangement on June 01, 2020, the Company has accounted for the merger of healthcare undertaking of Radiant Life Care Private Ltd. ("Radiant Life") and Max India Ltd as "reverse merger" under Ind -AS 103 " Business Combination". Accordingly, quarter ended June 30, 2020 has the result of one month operation of the Company and three months operation of Healthcare undertaking of Radiant Life and previous year ended March 31,2021 has the result of ten months operation of the Company and twelve months of Healthcare undertaking of Radiant Life.

சென்னை, ஆக. 11: தமிழகத்தில் ஆடி திருவிழாக்களில் அதிகம் பேர் கூடுவ தாலும், 62 சதவீதம் பேர் முகக்கவசம் அணியாததாலும் கரோனா தொற்று அதிகரித்து வருவதாக மக்கள் நல்வாழ் வுத் துறை முதன்மைச் செயலர் ஜெ. ரா தாகிருஷ்ணன் தெரிவித்தார்.
சென்னை ஓமந்துாரார் அரசு மருத் துவமனையில் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள குழந்தைகளுக்கான கரோனா அவசர சிகிச்சை பிரிவை ஜெ.ராதாகிருஷ்ணன் புதன்கிழமை ஆய்வு செய்தார். இதைத் தொடர்ந்து அவர் செய்தியாளர்களி டம் கூறியது:
தமிழகத்தில் உள்ள 34 மாவட்டங்க ளிலும் நாளொன்றுக்கு 100-க்கும்கீழ் கரோனா தொற்று கண்டறியப்படுகி றது. நான்கு மாவட்டங்களில் மட்டுமே நாளொன்றுக்கு 100-க்கும் மேல் தொற்று கண்டறியப்படுகிறது.
கூட்டத்தைத் தவிர்ப்பது, முகக்கவ சம் அணிவது போன்ற தடுப்பு நடை முறையைப் பின்பற்ற வேண்டும் என பல்வேறு விழிப்புணர்வு நடவடிக்கை யில் ஈடுபட்டாலும் மக்களின் அலட்சி யத்தால் சென்னை, ஈரோடு, தஞ்சாவூர், புதுக்கோட்டை போன்ற மாவட்டங்க ளில் தொற்று அதிகரித்து வருகிறது.

மின்னணு வடிவில் பங்கு வைத்துள்ள பங்குதாரர்கள் தங்கள் பங்கு வைப்பாளரை அணுகி தங்கள் மின்னஞ்சல் முகனி மற்றும் வங்கி கணக்கு விவரங்களை புதுப்பிக்கவும்.
வருடாந்திர பொதுக்குழுக் கூட்டத்தின் அறிவிப்பிலுள்ள தீர்மாணங்களின் மீது தொலை மின்னணு வாக்கு (Remote 73 e-voting) மூலம் வாக்களிக்கும் வசதி கம்பெனியால் பங்குதாரர்களுக்கு அளிக்கப்படும். மேலும் வருடாந்திர பொதுக்குழுக் கூட்டத்தில் மின்வாக்களிப்பு (e-voting) வசதியும் அளிக்கப்படும். பங்குதாரர்களுக்கு தொலை மின்னணு வாக்குப்பதிவு முறை, பொதுக்குழுக் கூட்டத்தில் காணொளி காட்சி மற்றும் ஒலி-ஒளி காட்சிகள் மூலம் பங்கு பெறுதல் மற்றும் பொதுக்குழுக் கூட்டத்தின்போது நடைபெறவுள்ள மின்னணு வாக்குப்பதிவுக்கான விரிவான வழிமுறைகளை 75ம் வருடாந்திர பொதுக்குழுக் கூட்டத்திற்கான அறிவிப்பில் விளக்கமாக தெரிவிக்கப்படும்.
