Appointment of Chief Financial Officer

The Board of Inchcape plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Howes as the Group's new Chief Financial Officer following the previously announced decision of John McConnell to leave the Group and return to his native Australia. John will leave Inchcape on 29 February 2016 and Richard will take up his appointment, and join the Inchcape Board, on 11 April 2016.

Richard is currently Chief Financial Officer of Coats Group plc, the leading industrial thread and consumer textile crafts business, with operations in over 70 countries across six continents. Previously he held the same position at Topaz Energy and Marine, an international oil field services company and also worked for former FTSE 250 company Geest plc, an international food manufacturer.

Richard has amassed a wealth of experience across the financial and commercial sectors, working for multisite businesses with substantial global footprints.  Richard began his career qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young before joining Dresdner Kleinwort Benson's Corporate Finance team.
