IMUGENE APPOINTS DR AXEL HOOS AS NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Melbourne, 6 November 2013 : Australian drug development and pharmaceutical company Imugene (ASX.IMU) is pleased to announce the proposed appointment of Dr Axel Hoos as a Non-Executive Director of the company subject to shareholder approval of its acquisition of Biolife Science Qld Limited as announced on 23 October 2013.
Dr Axel Hoos is Vice President, Oncology R&D at GlaxoSmithKline where he directs clinical and translational research on molecular mechanisms of cancer and tumour-host interactions for rational combination of therapies to optimise patient outcomes.
Prior to his current role, Dr Hoos was the medical lead in immunology/oncology at BristolMyers Squibb where he developed the Yervoy monoclonal antibody in melanoma and other indications. Yervoy is the first therapy to extend survival in metastatic melanoma. Dr Hoos has previously been Co-Director of the influential think-tank Cancer Immnunotherapy Consortium.
Current Non-Executive Chairman Mr Steve Harris will retire from the board at the conclusion of the acquisition.

Non-Exec Director Paul Hopper has over 20 years experience in the establishment and management of biotechnology companies. He is Head of the Life Sciences and the Australia Desk at US investment bank, Cappello Capital Corp, and is also the non-executive chairman of cancer therapy company Viralytics Limited.”
