BOARD APPOINTMENT

Imperial Brands PLC is pleased to announce that Alan Johnson will join the Board as a Non-Executive Director, with effect from 1 January 2021.

Alan has a strong financial background in consumer goods and retail, having held a number of senior finance positions at Unilever during a 30-year career, including Chief Audit Executive and Chief Financial Officer of the Global Foods Division. He was previously Chief Financial Officer and then a Non-Executive Director at food retailer Jerónimo Martins, SGPS, SA until April 2016. Alan is currently President and Chair of the Board of the International Federation of Accountants and a member of the Board and Chair of the Audit Committee of the International Valuation Standards Council.

As well as his financial acumen and international experience across mature and developing markets, he has a track record of successfully managing business transformations. These skills and capabilities will further strengthen the Board's effectiveness as we enter the next important phase of Imperial's development."

Alan will also join the Succession and Nominations Committee and Audit Committee with effect from 1 January 2021.

There are no other changes to Committee memberships.

This announcement is made in accordance with LR 9.6.11. Other than his non-executive role mentioned above, there are no further details required to be disclosed under LR 9.6.13 in connection with Alan's appointment.
