Australian Securities Exchange Announcement
ADDITIONAL COVERED LIVES
ImpediMed announces additional covered lives from a third-party administrator (TPA) offering coverage for L-DEX® testing.
NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION OR RELEASE IN THE UNITED STATES OR TO U.S. PERSONS
Brisbane, Australia – ImpediMed Limited (ASX: IPD) (ImpediMed or the Company) reports today additional coverage for bioimpedance spectroscopy. Group & Pension Administrators, Inc., (GPA) is one of the largest independently owned third-party benefit administrators or TPA’s in the Southwestern United States and is an active promoter of women's health. GPA covers 175,000+ lives through the selfinsured companies it provides services. In a press release issued today in the US, GPA stated that it strongly endorses the pre-emptive model of care for lymphedema in breast cancer patients.
"As a wellness and prevention champion, GPA strongly promotes health plan coverage for oncologists to clinically assess the early stages of Lymphedema because it is the right thing to do for the patient and plan," said Kathy Enochs, COO for GPA.
Greg Brown, ImpediMed’s CEO stated, “In today’s US healthcare environment, growing numbers of companies see becoming self-insured as a means of controlling cost while improving quality of care for employees. We are excited by the announcement which demonstrates GPA’s focus on women’s health issues and because of their prominence in the Southwest. They recognized the value of the pre-emptive model of care, and the use of L-Dex as an aid in the clinical assessment of unilateral lymphoedema of the arm in women.”

This announcement is important to the Company as it demonstrates acceptance by a segment of the US healthcare market responsible for paying medical claims filed by physicians treating the employees of self-insured companies. ImpediMed’s U400 L-Dex device, used by a medical provider, can aid in the clinical assessment of unilateral lymphoedema of the arm in women, by measuring extracellular fluid differences of the limbs.
