FOLLOW-UP RC DRILLING FOR HIGH-GRADE NICKEL TARGETS AT EMU LAKE

Following the completion of its March quarter rotary airblast (RAB) drilling programme, Image Resources is planning follow-up reverse circulation (RC) drilling at its 90%-owned Emu Lake nickel project situated 70 km north east of Kalgoorlie.

As previously reported, the December and March quarter RAB drilling intersected anomalous nickel, copper and PGE values in weathered ultramafic rocks south along strike from the gossan zone. Past exploration drilling at the gossan zone intersected narrow high-grade nickel sulphides grading up to 7.5% Ni, demonstrating the prospectivity of the ultramafic rocks in this area.

Weathered zone drill intercents, 45000N prospect

Holes drilled at -60°, azimuth 090°.

The RC drilling will focus on the 45000N prospect about 3.5km south of the gossan zone. The anomalous nickel, copper and PGE values near the favourable contact zone of the ultramafic point to the presence of nickel sulphides at depth. Initially two RC holes are planned to depths of 200m to test down dip from hole ELRC11 and 100m along strike below holes ELRB100 and 101. Downhole EM surveys will be carried out in the two new holes to test for off-hole sulphide conductors. Drilling is scheduled to commence this month.
