ILUKA BOARD CHANGES

Iluka Resources Limited (Iluka) announces the following changes to its Board of Directors.

Retirement of Mr Wayne Osborn

Mr Wayne Osborn has today announced his intention to retire as a director of the Company effective from the close of the 2016 Annual General Meeting scheduled for May 2016. Mr Osborn currently serves as an independent non-executive director and Chairman of the People and Performance Committee.

Mr Greg Martin, Iluka’s Chairman, stated: “We thank Wayne for his service and contribution as a director. Iluka has been fortunate to be the beneficiary of Wayne’s professionalism and dedication over the six years he will have served on the Board by the time of his retirement. Wayne’s business acumen and industry knowledge have been invaluable in Board deliberations and in his role as Chair of the Board’s People and Performance Committee.”

Appointment of Dr Xiaoling Liu PhD (Extractive Metallurgy), BEng (Extractive Metallurgy), GAICD, FAusIMM.

Effective 19 February 2016, Dr Xiaoling Liu will join the Board of Iluka as an independent non-executive director.

Dr Liu is a former President and Chief Executive Officer of Rio Tinto Minerals based in the United States of America, and is currently a non-executive director of Newcrest Mining Limited. Her previous non-executive roles included: Board member of the California Chamber of Commerce; Vice President of the Board of Australian Aluminium Council and member of the University Council of Tasmania.

Over Dr Liu’s twenty-six years with the Rio Tinto Group she held various senior positions from Managing Director of Technical Services, President of Primary Metal Pacific, through to President and CEO of Rio Tinto Minerals. Through these roles, Xiaoling has accumulated extensive knowledge and insight into the industrial minerals sector.

Mr Martin commented on the appointment, stating: “We are delighted to add a director of Xiaoling‘s calibre to our Board. Her appointment comes as a result of a review of the skills and experience of current directors as well as an assessment of the skills required for the next phase of Iluka’s growth and development. In that regard, Xiaoling’s international experience in industrial minerals and minerals processing will complement and enhance the existing strengths of the Iluka Board.”
