APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR

Iluka Resources Limited is pleased to advise of the appointment of Mr John Pizzey as a non-executive Director of the Company, effective from 7 November 2005.

Mr Pizzey (aged 60) holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) degree and has more than 30 years experience in mining and mineral processing. including 10 years as a senior executive with Alcoa Inc (USA).

Mr Pizzey is also an experienced non-executive director of Australian listed companies. He is currently Chairman of Range River Gold Ltd and a Director of Amcor Limited. Mr Pizzey is also a Director of St Vincent's Medical Research Institute and Ivanhoe Grammar School.
