APPOINTMENT OF COMPANY SECRETARY

Independence Group NL (ASX: IGO) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Tony Walsh as Company Secretary and General Manager, Corporate. Mr Walsh will join the Company’s senior management team effective from 17 July 2013.

Mr Walsh joins Independence Group after seven successful years as Company Secretary of Atlas Iron Limited, where he was part of the management team that grew Atlas from an iron ore explorer to the medium sized iron ore producer it is today.

“The Independence senior management team welcome Tony”, Independence Group Managing Director, Chris Bonwick said. “We are extremely happy to have someone of Tony’s calibre and experience joining the team.”

“The Independence Board look forward to working with Tony”, Independence Group Chairman, Mr Peter Bilbe said. “Tony’s long experience in corporate governance, ASX Listing Rules, Corporations Law and corporate transactions will be a great asset to the Company, Board and Senior Management team.”

Mr Walsh will be responsible for the Company’s liaison with ASX and ASIC.

Mr Adrian Di Carlo will continue as Company Secretary until further notice.

Bio of Tony Walsh BComm, MBA, FCA, FCIS, FFin

Tony has been Company Secretary of ASX listed producer, Atlas Iron Limited for seven years since July 2006. Tony has over 25 years’ experience in dealing with listed companies, ASX, ASIC and corporate transactions including 4 years as a Director of Shaw River Manganese Limited (ASX: SRR), and 14 years with the ASX in Perth where he acted as ASX liaison with the JORC Committee. Mr Walsh is currently a member of the West Australian State Council of Chartered Secretaries Australia and a member of Newman College school council. Prior to his role at ASX, Tony worked with Ernst & Young for over 5 years in an audit and compliance capacity.

Mr Walsh is a Fellow of Charter Secretaries Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
