CHANGE OF COMPANY SECRETARY

Independence Group NL ("IGO") advises that, after nearly 10 years in the role, Mrs Kelly Ross has resigned her position as Company Secretary of IGO and its subsidiaries with effect from 23 August 2011. She will remain on the Board of IGO as a Non-Executive Director.

IGO Managing Director Mr Chris Bonwick said that "The Company is greatly indebted to Kelly for the most capable and professional manner in which she has carried out her work as Company Secretary and as a Director for almost a decade. That period has been one of considerable growth and challenge for the Company. Kelly has been a key member of the IGO management team during this time. We have relied heavily on her. We are fortunate that Kelly's extensive experience will continue to be available to us in her role as a Non-Executive Director."

The Directors of IGO wish to express their sincere appreciation for the invaluable work of Mrs Ross as an executive of the Company.

The Board has appointed Mr Terry (KT) Bourke as Company Secretary with effect from 23 August 2011. Mr Bourke, who recently joined the Company as Legal Counsel, is a corporate lawyer with considerable mining and industrial experience in New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia, Papua New Guinea and Canada. He has previously been a Director of three ASX listed companies (two of them in resources), a Director of two listed Canadian mining companies and Company Secretary of five ASX listed companies (four in resources).
