MR GARY COMB: FORMER MANAGING DIRECTOR OF IGO SUBSIDIARY JABIRU METALS LTD

In June 2011 Independence Group NL (“IGO”) completed the acquisition of Jabiru Metals Limited (“Jabiru”). In its Bidder’s Statement of 23 February 2011, IGO stated that that, following the successful completion of the Offer, IGO would invite Jabiru’s Managing Director Mr Gary Comb to join the IGO Board as an Executive Director. Gary has instead elected to retire from the company effective 31 August 2011.

Gary has been a Director of Jabiru since 1999 and Managing Director since 2004. The former shareholders of Jabiru and the current shareholders of IGO are indebted to him for his significant work in the development of Jabiru. I express my personal thanks to him and wish him all the best for the future.

The combined executive team of IGO and Jabiru is a talented one, with considerable depth. Responsibilities within IGO have already been reassigned to cover Gary’s departure. I am pleased with the success which we have made since June in integrating Jabiru into IGO. That task will take a major step forward when Perth-based staff from the current two offices move into the one, new, office in South Perth.
