NEW DIRECTOR APPOINTED

Independence Group NL is pleased to announce that Mr Oscar Aamodt has been appointed to the board of directors of the Company.

Mr Aamodt has a wealth of experience in the administration and management of mining and exploration listed companies in Australia and overseas. He has held a number of directorships in Australian mining and exploration companies, as well as having held the positions of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer with Resolute Limited, a company that at that time had operations in Australia and Africa.

Mr Aamodt has had extensive involvement in project development team work, project financing, as well as corporate growth activities. From February 2002 until June 2004 he was a Director and Company Secretary of Abelle Limited and most recently was Company Secretary of Bluestone Tin Limited and Metals Exploration Limited.

Mr Aamodt is an Independent Director as defined by the ASX Corporate Governance Council's Principles of good corporate governance & Best practice recommendations. Mr Aamodt is also a Director of public company Energy Metals Limited.
