Appointment of New Director

IG Group Holdings plc (the "Company", "IG" or "IG Group") is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Newman as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 1 October 2013.

Jim is currently Group Transformation Director for Friends Life Group and Resolution Limited with responsibilities for overseeing the final separation and integration of the UK life businesses acquired by Resolution Ltd.  Prior to his current role, Jim was a founder member and Chief Financial Officer of Resolution LLP, and served as Finance Director for Resolution Ltd.  Before joining the current Resolution business Jim was Finance Director for Resolution Plc, having joined the Group in 2005 as Group Financial Controller.  Previously, Jim spent 10 years at Aviva, where his roles included Group Integration Director for the CGU/Norwich Union Merger and Finance Director of Norwich Union Life, Aviva's UK Life insurance business.

Jonathan Davie, Chairman of IG, commenting on Jim's appointment, said "I am delighted to welcome Jim Newman to the Board of IG.  Jim's distinguished career and extensive experience in the financial services industry will be much valued by the Board as we continue to invest in and expand the business."
