WELL UPDATE

Triple Energy Limited (ASX: TNP, Triple , or Company ) is pleased to provide the following update on the first well at the Company’s CMM project in Heilongjiang Province in China.

The well was at a depth of 499 meters by 6:00am on 9[th] July. Over the weekend the well drilled through coal Seam No. 11, the first of three seams recognised as pre-drill Drill Stem Test ( DST ) candidates.

Drill cutting returns indicated Seam No. 11 is 11.5 meters thick (gross) at the well location, significantly thicker than had been prognosed. Elevated gas levels were encountered while drilling through this seam. A decision was therefore taken to complete a DST on this seam.

The DST No.1 on seam No. 11 was completed on 8[th] July. Data from the test is currently being evaluated. While initial results suggest that gas is present in this seam, permeability of the reservoir appears to be less than initially prognosed. Detailed analysis is required to understand the significance of this result together with wireline data that will be acquired once the well has reached Total Depth.

The well was experiencing fluid losses into intervals above the tested coal seam (383m to 493m). This section was therefore cemented off yesterday. Once cured, the well will be redrilled through this cemented section and then drill into new formation until the next coal seam targeted for DST is intersected. This is Seam No. 15 which is prognosed to be intersected at approximately 600 meters.

In addition to the coal seams targeted for DSTs, the well is also expected to intersect numerous other coal seams and these will be logged and interpreted upon the completion of the well.
