ASX ANNOUNCEMENT

11 July 2013 By e-lodgement

WELL UPDATE

Triple Energy Limited (ASX: TNP, Triple , or Company ) is pleased to provide the following update on the first well at the Company’s CMM project in Heilongjiang Province in China.

As of 6:00am on 11 July, the well is at a depth of 601 meters.

Since the last announcement on 9 July 2013 the well drilled from Seam No.11 at around 499 meters to coal Seam No.15, the second of three seams recognised as pre-drill Drill Stem Test ( DST ) candidates.

Drill cutting returns indicated Seam No.15 is around 6 meters thick at the well location, slightly thicker than prognosed. Strong methane gas levels were measured while drilling through this seam. A decision was therefore taken to complete a DST on this seam as planned and the DST No.2 on Seam No.15 was completed last night.

Data from the test is currently being evaluated in detail however robust gas pressures were observed both during and after the test tool was closed. Preliminary indications are that the permeability and flow capacity of the reservoir is considered by management to be good for an unconventional gas project.

Further detailed analysis is required to understand the significance of this data together with the other DST and wireline data that will be acquired once the well has reached Total Depth ( TD ) at around 900 meters. Once this data has been collated and analysed in detail, completion strategies will be evaluated. Once this well is finished, it is planned that it will be suspended until a completion strategy is decided.

The well is now being readied to continue drilling ahead to the next coal seam targeted for DST. This is Seam No.18 which is prognosed to occur at approximately 660 meters. All going well, this should occur later tonight and assuming this is achieved, the third DST will be run tomorrow.

In addition to the coal seams targeted for DSTs, the well is also expected to intersect numerous other coal seams and these will be logged and interpreted upon the completion of the well.

Commenting on developments, Triple Energy Executive Chairman Paul Underwood said:

“The initial DST data on Seam No.15 appears very promising and demonstrates reservoir permeability, flow capacity and high methane gas levels conducive to an unconventional gas project . We look forward to providing further updates on testing as analysis continues as well as the results of the third planned DST once Seam No.18 has been intersected. Whilst the permeability in Seam No.11 was less than expected, it remains a good candidate to be drilled laterally and/or fracture stimulated to increase flow rates. Completion possibilities will be assessed after the well has reached TD.
