Hummingbird Resources plc ("Hummingbird" or the "Company") (AIM: HUM) announces that it has been notified of the following purchases of ordinary shares in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") by Stephen Betts, a Non-Executive Director of the Company, and his wife (the "Purchases").

Following the Purchases, Stephen Betts is beneficially interested in, in aggregate, 877,601 Ordinary Shares, representing approximately 0.25 per cent. of the Company's currently issued share capital. Mr Betts' total beneficial interest includes his wife's holding of 182,500 Ordinary shares, 315,101 Ordinary Shares held by Stephen Betts & Sons Limited and 180,000 Ordinary Shares held by Stephen Betts & Sons Limited (Self Administered) Pension Scheme. Daniel Betts, managing director of the Company, is also beneficially interested in Stephen Betts & Sons Limited and Stephen Betts & Sons Limited (Self Administered) Pension Scheme.
