Key developments in the third quarter:
Holland Colours realized 5% revenue increase in the third quarter of the 2016/2017 financial year versus the same period last year. The USD currency effect was negligible in this improvement.
Revenue for the division Europe was in line with the third quarter of 2015/2016: both Building & Construction and Specialties were down. This was compensated by an increase in Packaging.
Revenue for the division Americas, as measured in USD, ended slightly higher versus last year with especially Packaging and Specialties up.
Revenue for the division Asia, also measured in USD, clearly increased as compared to last year with most of the growth realized in Building & Construction.
In China Holland Colours is winding down its operation. A process that will be finalized this running quarter. This will have no material impact on the group result. Discussions with a potential local partner are ongoing.
The 3 rd quarter gross margin for Holland Colours was clearly up over the third quarter of last year. Operating costs ended slightly higher.
The above has led to a strong increase of the operating result as compared to last year. The net result increased as well.
The operating working capital per the end of December 2016 was up versus the level of prior year in line with the revenue increase.
In the third quarter of 2016/2017, Holland Colours did meet all covenants as agreed with the bank.
Unforeseen events aside, Holland Colours expects revenue as well as the net result for the full financial year to end above prior year.
The results for the financial year 2016/2017 will be announced on May 30, 2017.
