COLLTECH LAUNCHES RESEARCH GRADE OVINE COLLAGEN

CollTech Australia Limited (“CollTech”) [ASX: CAU] announced at the AGM the product launch of the latest product from its development pipeline, research grade collagen OVICOLL[®] |R. The product was developed for use in a broad range of research applications and as a prototype for medical grade collagen.

CollTech will be promoting the Research grade collagen through distributors and the academic community, supplying to research institutions worldwide.

Having OVICOLL[®] |R available in the market place and being used by researchers from industry and academia for a broad range of applications ensures that the company’s Ovine collagen is being promoted and used throughout the world by those who often are also developing prototypes for medical applications.

Dr Cooper, CollTech’s General Manger stated that we are very pleased with our research grade collagen and are confident that it will find a significant niche in the market place. Collagen is widely recognized as a useful matrix for improving cell culture. In vitro use of collagen can enhance the adhesion, morphology, growth, migration, function and differentiation of a variety of cell types, many of which are used for therapeutic purposes. Researchers who have trialed the product find it equivalent or superior to currently available research grade collagens

The release of OVICOLL[®] |R is an important stepping stone toward the high margin biomedical collagen.
