POSITIVE PROFIT ALERT

This announcement is made by hmvod Limited (the “ Company ” and together with its subsidiaries, the “ Group ”) pursuant to Rule 17.10(2)(a) of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on GEM of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (the “ GEM Listing Rules ”) and the Inside Information Provisions (as defined in the GEM Listing Rules) under Part XIVA of the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Chapter 571 of the Laws of Hong Kong).

The board (the “ Board ”) of directors (the “ Directors ”) of the Company would like to inform the shareholders of the Company (the “ Shareholders ”) and potential investors that, based on an initial assessment of the unaudited consolidated management accounts of the Group for the three months ended 30 June 2019, it is expected that the Group will record a consolidated profit attributable to owners of the Company for the three months ended 30 June 2019 as compared with the consolidated loss attributable to owners of the Company for the three months ended 30 June 2018 which is mainly due to the waiver of the principal and the accrued interest amounting to approximately HK$14.1 million under the promissory note as mutually agreed between the promissory note holder and the Company in June 2019.

The Company is still in the course of preparing the unaudited condensed consolidated first quarterly results for the three months ended 30 June 2019 (the “ FY2019/2020 First Quarterly Results ”) and the information contained in this announcement is only based on the preliminary assessment of the unaudited consolidated management accounts of the Group for the three months ended 30 June 2019 which has not been confirmed or audited by the auditor or reviewed by audit committee of the Board and is subject to adjustment. Shareholders and potential investors are advised to read carefully the FY2019/2020 First Quarterly Results which are expected to be published on 12 August 2019.
