Coal Trading Company joins online platform
Berlin, April 24, 2009
HMS Bergbau AG, a company which specializes in international coal trading,
has joined the online platform of globalCoal(TM). globalCOAL(TM) was
founded by leading members of the world coal industry to promote screen
trading of standardised coal products. The company has developed the
world's leading electronic marketplace for thermal coal, as well as a range
of standardised coal quality specifications, a Standard Coal Trading
Agreement (SCoTA(R)), and robust methodology for coal price index
calculation. Including HMS Bergbau AG, globalCOAL(TM) now counts 88
members.
As an independent supplier in the international commodity market HMS
Bergbau AG is developing a new distribution channel by joining
globalCOAL(TM). HMS is purchasing coal and coal products from leading
producers and delivering it to consumers across the world. 'Joining the
innovative globalCOAL(TM) network is an important step in our strategy to
further globalize our business', says Heinz Schernikau, founder and CEO.
HMS Bergbau AG has been listed at the Frankfurt stock exchange in the Entry
Standard since December 2008.
