In continuation of our letter of even number dated 10.05.2026 on the captioned subject, it is informed that Shri Ghanshaym Das Gupta, ED & Unit Head Khetri Copper Complex, HCL has assumed the charge of Additional Director-Director (Mining), Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) today i.e. 14.05.2026 (F/N) in terms of Ministry of Mines Order No. Met3-10/1/2025-METAL III dated 08.05.2026. Copy of Order issued by the Ministry, Joining Report and brief profile of Shri Gupta are enclosed.

Consequent upon joining of Shri Ghanshaym Das Gupta as Additional Director-Director (Mining), Shri Sanjeev Kumar Sinha has ceased to hold the Additional Charge of the post of Director (Mining), HCL. Shri Sinha will continue to hold the post of Director (Operations), HCL.

As per confirmation received from Shri Ghanshaym Das Gupta, it is informed that Shri Gupta is not related to any of the Members of the Board of Directors or Key Managerial Personnel of the Company or their relatives and he is also not debarred from holding the office of Director by virtue of any SEBI order or any other such authority.

The above is submitted pursuant to Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 for information and record please.

In terms of Article 70(1) of the Articles of Association of Hindustan Copper Limited (a Miniratna CPSE under the Ministry of Mines), the President is pleased to appoint Shri Ghanshyam Das Gupta, Executive Director (ED), Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) to the post of Director (Mining) in Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) in the scale of pay of Rs. 1,80,000-3,40,000/- w.e.f. the date of his assumption of charge of the post till the date of his superannuation i.e. 30.09.2030, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Brief Profile of Shri Ghanshyam Das Gupta,
Additional Director-Director (Mining), Hindustan Copper Ltd

Shri Ghanshyam Das Gupta is B. Tech from premium institute NIT Surathkal with 31 years of domestic and international experience. Shri Gupta is also a holder of 1st Class Mines Manager Certificate of Competency (FCC).

Shri Gupta is a “Turnaround Specialist” in the mining industry. He has a proven track record of making PSU Units into profit-making and award-winning operations. He has vast experience and specialization in underground metal mining, Gold & Copper mining. He worked in open cast mining in India and abroad.

Shri Gupta is also a Member of Industry 4.0 Innovation Centre, a Society registered under Society Registration Act, 1860 having Registered Office at Guwahati.

Key Achievement & Contributions

  • Strategic Turnaround at MCP: Revived the Malanjkhan Copper Project (MCP) during its difficult transition to underground mining. He resolved a 3-year statutory deadlock by implementing an “out-of-the-box” engineering plan to connect mine outlets, securing essential clearances under the Mines Act.
  • Operational Scale-up: Accelerated MCP’s mine development from Zero to 1,000 meters/month. He successfully commenced production while the underground project was still under construction to ensure immediate revenue.
  • Record Profitability: Led the Khetri Copper Complex (KCC) to Record Profits by expending the Kolihan Mine Capex Project.
  • Global Innovation: In Saudi Arabia, he redesigned Overburden (OB) waste relocation, significantly reducing lead distances and costs, which enhanced the reputation of Indian engineers globally.
  • Environmental & Safety Leadership:
  • Earned the 5-Star Rating Award from Ministry of Mines and the National Safety Award from Ministry of Labour & Employment
  • Achieved Zero Water Discharge and planted 3 Lakh saplings, improving community relations and the PSU’s ESG profile.
