HIGHFIELD RESOURCES APPOINTS EXPERIENCED MINING EXECUTIVE AS GLOBAL CFO
Spanish potash developer, Highfield Resources (ASX: HFR) (“Highfield” or “the Company”), is pleased to advise it has appointed experienced mining executive, Mike Norris as the Company´s Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”).
The appointment reinforces Highfield’s efforts to enhance its executive management team as the Company makes the important transition from a successful potash explorer and developer, to a low cost, high margin potash producer.
Mike is a qualified Chartered Accountant with almost 30 years’ commercial experience, predominantly in the mining industry. Most recently, since 2007 he has acted as Finance Director for London-listed West African gold producer, Avocet Mining. In this role he was one of two executive directors responsible for all financial management activities of the Company. This included Avocet’s corporate strategy, investor relations, corporate finance, accounting, cash management, taxation, budgeting, auditing, internal control, legal and corporate governance.
Prior to Avocet, Mike was Head of Business Performance, Industrial Minerals Division for Anglo American and CFO for the Kennecott Greens Creek Mining Co. (now part of Hecla Mining Company) under its ownership by Rio Tinto.
During his career, Mike has also worked at global mine sites, amassing front line production management experience. This includes being Mill Manager for Kennecott Ridgeway Mining, South Carolina, where he had responsibility for all operational, maintenance, metallurgical, environmental and safety for 15,000 tons per day gold processing plant at an open pit mine producing 120koz per annum.
Mike will be based at Highfield’s head office in Pamplona, Spain and starts with Company on 23 November 2015.

Highfield Resources is an ASX-listed potash company with five 100%-owned projects located in Spain.
Highfield’s Muga, Vipasca, Pintano, Izaga and Sierra del Perdón potash projects are located in the Ebro potash producing basin in Northern Spain covering a project area of more than 550km[2] . The Sierra del Perdón project includes two former operating potash mines.
