ASX Release 24 September 2015

Experienced Independent Director Proposed For Appointment at AGM

The Directors of Spanish potash developer, Highfield Resources (ASX: HFR) (“Highfield” or “the Company”), are pleased to announce that Ms. Pauline Carr will be proposed as an independent director, subject to shareholder approval at the Company´s 2015 Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The proposed appointment reinforces Highfield’s commitment to progress its Board composition to contain a majority of independent directors, ahead of the Company’s transition from a successful potash explorer and developer, to a low cost, high margin potash producer.

Pauline is an experienced mining executive with over 25 years’ commercial experience in the fields of management, corporate governance and compliance, mergers and acquisitions, investor and stakeholder relations and corporate restructures. Pauline is currently the founding director and a principal of Exact Consulting Pty Ltd., an Australian-managed company which provides business improvement, compliance, risk management, project management and corporate governance solutions to support executive management teams internationally.

Prior to Exact Consulting, Pauline held senior positions with international mining companies Newmont Asia Pacific and Normandy Mining Limited. She also worked for a number of years in the oil and gas sector with Exxon Mobil (formerly Esso Australia Limited).

Pauline is currently a director of National Pharmacies, a Council Member of the University of South Australia, a Board Member of the Minerals and Energy Advisory Council and the Deputy Chairman of the South Australian Minerals and Petroleum Expert Group. She holds a Bachelor of Economics from the Australian National University, a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Adelaide and is a Fellow of both the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Governance Institute of Australia.
