HELMA Eigenheimbau AG: successful 2009 business year, order book up 30%,
positive outlook

Lehrte, March 17, 2010 - HELMA Eigenheimbau AG, the specialist for
individual solid construction homes and sustainable energy concepts,
reports on a successful 2009 financial year. According to provisional IFRS
consolidated figures, revenue was raised by more than 10% to around EUR
62.4 million last year (2008: EUR 56.6 million), generating earnings before
interest and tax (EBIT) of some EUR 1.1 million (2008: EUR -0.4 million.
This represents an EBIT improvement of EUR 1.5 million. Consolidated net
income amounted to around EUR 0.2 million (2008: EUR -0.9 million).

In overall terms, in the 2009 financial year HELMA Eigenheimbau AG both
slightly exceeded the guidance published by the Management Board in March
2009, and successfully completed the turnaround launched in 2008.

ORDER BOOK UP BY 30%, POSITIVE OUTLOOK:

Along with a marked improvement in profitability, the company also achieved
its best sales result in its 30-year corporate history in 2009. For
instance, net new orders were up by 21% to EUR 83.3 million (2008: EUR 69.0
million), and the net order book as of December 31, 2009 increased by more
than 30% to EUR 70.1 million (December 31, 2008: EUR 53.8 million). As a
result, HELMA again performed significantly better than the market, and has
also created an excellent position for further tangible revenue and
earnings growth.

Consequently, the Management Board anticipates consolidated revenue of EUR
80.0 million for the 2010 financial year, and EBIT of EUR 3.0 million. This
corresponds to revenue growth of around 28%, and an almost trebling of
consolidated EBIT. The intense and prolonged winter season has already been
taken fully into account in this budget. As a result of the restriction on
construction activity in the first quarter of 2010, which was due to
weather conditions, revenue and related earnings contributions will be
generated predominantly in the second half-year, as in the previous year.

The 2009 annual report, including finalised figures, will be published on
April 28, 2010 on the Internet at www.helma.de.
