HELMA Eigenheimbau AG publishes a half-yearly report / positive outlook for
2009

Lehrte, September 30, 2008 – HELMA Eigenheimbau AG has published its report
on the first half of 2008 today, while also issuing its first outlook for
the 2009 financial year.

The HELMA Group boosted total output by over 35% to EUR 25.3 million in the
first six months of the current financial year, achieving a highly
gratifying gross profit margin of 21.8% (FY 2007:16.9%). Further, important
milestones were also reached with a reduction in average throughput times
to 10.4 months, and a cut in personnel expense. Group EBIT of EUR -0.54
million was consequently achieved at the half-year stage (FY 2007: EUR -5.3
million). Growth in the order book was also very positive, with a 19.5%
increase in net new orders received to EUR 35.5 million. This was
particularly due to the successful launch of the HELMA Solar House, and to
significant growth impulses emanating from the sales regions of Bavaria and
Baden-Württemberg.

'With this strong first half-year behind us, we are highly optimistic about
achieving the forecast turnaround for the 2008 financial year,' commented
HELMA CEO Karl-Heinz Maerzke. 'The traditionally stronger second half-year
is still ahead of us. We are assuming we will achieve consolidated EBIT of
between EUR 0.4 million and EUR 0.7 million on total output of EUR 55.0
million to EUR 58.0 million,' Maerzke went on to say.

FURTHER INCREASE IN TOTAL OUTPUT AND A RISE IN PROFITABILITY ANTICIPATED
FOR THE 2009 FINANCIAL YEAR:

The HELMA Group will prospectively also report significant rates of growth
in the 2009 financial year. Particular growth drivers in this respect will
derive from the HELMA Solar House, the further establishment of the new
showhouse locations, and the Bavarian and Baden-Württemberg sales regions.
Further cost relief provided by the completed cost-reduction measures, the
trend towards higher house sales prices, and a further additional reduction
in average throughput times, should also provide an additional boost to
profitability. A marked rise in total output to between EUR 68.0 million
and EUR 72.0 million, and EBIT of between EUR 2.7 million and EUR 3.3
million, are consequently expected for the 2009 financial year overall.
