MARK SANDERS APPOINTED AS US-BASED DIRECTOR
The Board of New Horizon Coal Ltd ( NHO or Company ) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Peter Mark Sanders as an independent, non-executive Director of the Company. Mr Sanders brings a broad range of experience in the global mining equipment industry to NHO.
Mr. Sanders is President & CEO of Strata Proximity Systems, an affiliate of Strata Worldwide, a leading producer of safety solutions for the global mining industry. Before joining Strata, he served for 15 years as an executive with Joy Mining Machinery and its parent, Joy Global. There, he held a variety of roles, including overseeing the firm’s growth in China, and leading Joy Mining Machinery’s US business unit. Prior to Joy, he worked for Longwall International, The Dowty Group, British Coal and Anglo American. Mr Sanders holds degrees in Mining Engineering from the University of Nottingham and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Sanders brings to NHO over a quarter century of mining industry experience to NHO. He has an in-depth knowledge of global coal markets as well as a history of cultivating new business opportunities. The Board is pleased to welcome him to the Company and expects his addition will be invaluable as NHO advances towards its goal of becoming a mid-tier North American mining company. His appointment will add critical experience from the equipment industry to optimise equipment selection and minimize capital and operating expenditures to the Company’s Pre-Feasibility ( PFS ) and Bankable Feasibility Studies ( BFS ).

About New Horizon Coal Ltd
NHO is focused on becoming a producer of high quality thermal coal, with a target of becoming a mid-tier North American coal mining company. Through its US subsidiary, Wasatch Natural Resources (WNR), the Kinney Coal Project was acquired in late 2011. The Kinney Coal Project plan involves underground mining of two major coal seams using multiple, continuous miner sections in a room and pillar mining operation. Entry will be via an exposed coal seam outcrop within the already permitted area.
The Kinney Coal Project lies in a mature mining region which has historically produced over 30 million tonnes of coal annually from underground mines. The Kinney Coal Project benefits from world-class infrastructure including three class 1 rail carriers within 30km of the proposed portal, paved roads and state highway maintenance facility directly adjacent to the mine and an experienced local workforce. The Kinney Coal Project is well positioned to meet demand for coal in the domestic and export markets with a high heat, low sulphur product.
