Item 8.01. Other Events

On June 30, 2017, Hecla Mining Company issued a news release announcing the withdrawal of its proposed offering of senior notes and the termination of its offer to purchase its existing senior notes. A copy of the news release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 hereto and is incorporated by reference herein.
