Item 8.01. Other Event.

On April 9, 2013, Hecla Mining Company issued a press release announcing the pricing of an offering of U.S. $500 million aggregate principal amount of Senior Unsecured Notes bearing an interest rate of 6.875%. The offering is expected to close on April 12, 2013, subject to certain closing conditions. A copy of the news release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
