PRIMARY ANNOUNCES THE TRANSITION OF EXECUTIVES

Primary Health Care Limited (“Primary”) today announced with regret the departure of Henry Bateman from the role of General Manager, Medical Centres. Henry has decided for personal reasons to pursue other opportunities. Following Henry’s departure, Primary has announced the separation of bulk billing and private billing within the Medical Centres structure. Dr John Houston has been appointed as General Manager of the bulk billing division and Maxine Jaquet has been appointed as General Manager of a new private billing division. Both John and Maxine will report to Primary’s Managing Director and CEO, Mr Peter Gregg.

Mr Gregg said: "On behalf of Primary's board, management team, our clinicians and staff, I want to thank Henry for his significant contribution to building Primary into the company it is today. Henry has shown great dedication and commitment to Primary and I wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.

“John is an experienced clinician and operational manager who has been a GP for more than 27 years and the Chief Clinical Officer of our Medical Centres division for more than 3½ years. He will run the multi‐disciplinary, bulk billing centres which are core to Primary’s business model. Here, we are investing to grow with the roll out of new healthcare practitioner recruitment packages, the development of education and peer support initiatives, and a pipeline of new centres.

"I am also delighted to welcome Maxine to a newly created role of General Manager of the private billing division. Maxine brings extensive experience as a commercial and operational executive, managing business transformations in the services industry and in regulated environments.

“While bulk billing has been a core philosophy of this company and served us well, diversification of our revenue stream is particularly important as we look to grow in an environment where Government‐funded health care is under constant pressure. To this end, Maxine has been tasked with developing a privately‐billing medical centre model and brand. Success in this area goes hand in hand with our goal of delivering patient‐centric care, supported by software developments from our MedicalDirector division.

“Looking to the future, we aim to grow the size of our Medical Centres network and cement our position as a leading healthcare provider. Combining this with a more flexible cost base, lower leverage, and greater focus on returns on investment, the Group will deliver the pathway for growth. I believe John and Maxine will be integral to our success, working with the rest of the executive team to maximise the value of Primary’s unique platform of assets.” Mr Gregg concluded.
