TRADING HALT

The securities of Carpentaria Exploration Limited (the “Company”) will be placed in preopen at the request of the Company, pending the release of an announcement by the Company. Unless ASX decides otherwise, the securities will remain in pre-open until the earlier of the commencement of normal trading on Tuesday, 22 June 2010 or when the announcement is released to the market.

The Directors of Carpentaria Exploration Limited (CAP) request a Trading Halt in the Company’s securities with immediate effect.

As required by ASX Listing Rule 17.1 CAP provides the following information:

• The Trading Halt is requested pending the release of an announcement to the market relating to the execution of an agreement regarding the under-writing of the Company’s options CAPO expiring 30 June 2010.

• The Trading Halt is requested for the period ending at 10:00am on Tuesday 22 June 2010

• CAP is not aware of any reason why the Trading Halt should not be granted.
