Board changes

The Board of Carpentaria Resources Limited (ASX:CAP) is committed to transforming to an iron ore development and mining company. As announced in the Chairman’s address at the Company’s annual general meeting, Mr John Anderson has joined the Board as Non-executive Chairman and Dr Neil Williams has retired from the Board.

Mr Anderson has 40 years of relevant corporate and finance sector experience to bring to Carpentaria. He has been extensively involved in project, equity and other financing, the leadership and management of resources companies in Australia and South America and in taking businesses from IPO through to successful operations. Having worked with Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) in the 1980s in the Project Finance and Resources areas, he has since the early 2000s been on the boards of various ASX-listed companies. He is currently Non-executive Chairman of Canterbury Resources Limited (ASX: CBY), which explores for potential tier 1 copper–gold projects in Australia, Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu. Previous to that, John’s experience includes being Chairman of Anchor Resources, which was ultimately bought by Chinese interests, and Managing Director of Admiralty Resources, where he helped develop a magnetite project in Chile.

Dr Williams leaves the Board after nearly eight years as a Carpentaria Director, including more than five years as Chairman. During that time, he has helped oversee the transformation of Carpentaria from a junior minerals exploration company to a potential developer of the Hawsons Iron Project. The Board wishes to express its genuine appreciation of, and gratitude for, the contributions made by Dr Williams as Nonexecutive Director and Chairman of the Company and his enthusiasm and professionalism in those roles.

The Company intends to seek additional strong contributors to join the Company in its transformation into a miner.
