Carpentaria’s founding Executive Chairman, Mr Sheard led the Company’s Initial Public Offering in November 2007, maintaining a successful exploration program funded through discovery, strategic project acquisitions and divestments, and without dilutive capital raisings.
“Nick has built a strong technical, commercial and team culture at Carpentaria which has rewarded shareholders through new discoveries and the Company is well placed to build upon these foundations,” Mr Hill said.
“His experience leading the exploration efforts of companies around the world including Inco (now Vale) and MIM Holdings has proven invaluable to Carpentaria. We’re very fortunate to have someone of Nick’s calibre, together with the rest of Board, that is highly experienced in discovery and project development for a company of our size. I look forward to delivering the next phase of Carpentaria’s growth.”
ASX ANNOUNCEMENT
The management change follows the establishment of the new joint venture for the Hawsons project with partner Pure Metals, which assumed management of the project and is focused on delivering a successful Bankable Feasibility Study and subsequent project development.
Carpentaria maintains its core exploration and opportunity based focus with a strong technical team that has demonstrated exploration success. The Company will maintain an active interest in the development of Hawsons without the immediate need to contribute to funding. Carpentaria will focus on advancing its other projects including the Braemar Iron project in South Australia, the Yanco Glen tungsten project near Broken Hill and its gold projects in the Lachlan Fold Belt, whilst seeking further opportunities in its geographical focus of eastern Australia.
“Carpentaria has the right team in place to maximise the value of our project pipeline, positioning the Company for its development into a diversified mid-tier miner,” Mr Sheard said.
