Thorsten Haeser to become Chief Commercial Officer at Hapag-Lloyd

Executive Board of Hapag-Lloyd to have four members in future

The Supervisory Board of Hapag-Lloyd AG has appointed Thorsten Haeser (47) as a new Executive Board member. Haeser will be in charge of Hapag-Lloyd’s global sales activities as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). The law graduate is currently Managing Director of Versatel GmbH, a company owned by United Internet AG. Prior to that, he held various management positions at Sixt AG, Telefonica O2 and VIAG Interkom.

“In Thorsten Haeser we have acquired a proven sales expert with international experience for Hapag-Lloyd”, the Supervisory Board’s Chairman Michael Behrendt said about the appointment. “In particular he brings his extensive experience in establishing innovative sales concepts to the role.”

Thorsten Haeser will take up his new position in Hamburg on 1 October 2015.

As a result, the Executive Board of Hapag-Lloyd will have four members in future: Rolf Habben Jansen (Chief Executive Officer), Anthony J. Firmin (Chief Operating Officer), Nicolás Burr (Chief Financial Officer) and Thorsten Haeser (Chief Commercial Officer).
