Changeover after closing of merger with CSAV / Michael Behrendt
replaces Dr Jürgen Weber as agreed / Other changes

The closing of the CSAV transaction will also mean a change of Supervisory
Board Chairman at Hapag-Lloyd AG. Dr Jürgen Weber has stepped down from his
position as agreed. The former CEO of Hapag-Lloyd, Michael Behrendt, will
take over the role with effect from today. He had already been elected to
the board and to his position as Chairman in advance.

During his time as CEO of Hapag-Lloyd AG, Michael Behrendt spearheaded the
deal in Chile. "I am pleased that I will be able to play a part in shaping
the direction of Hapag-Lloyd in my new role," said Behrendt. Thanking his
predecessor, he added: "For the last three years, Jürgen Weber has always
been on hand to provide valuable advice and strong commitment to
Hapag-Lloyd. We owe him a debt of gratitude for this."

Dr Jürgen Weber, a former CEO and Supervisory Board Chairman of Deutsche
Lufthansa AG, had been at the helm of Hapag-Lloyd's Supervisory Board since
June 2012. "As a proud Hamburg resident, I was happy to fulfil the request
of the Mayor of Hamburg, Olaf Scholz, and take up the role of Supervisory
Board Chairman. I believe that Hapag-Lloyd is now in a good position and
would like to wish the management and employees every success for the
future," said Weber.

Supervisory Board members Dr Andreas Rittstieg and Ulrich Leitermann also
stepped down as agreed with the closing of the CSAV transaction. The AGM
elected Oscar Hasbún Martínez and Francisco Pérez Mackenna to replace them
on the Supervisory Board of Hapag-Lloyd AG.
